In 2008, ‘BOATILUS’ produced the first Biodegradable rain boots

and was the first to create and make truly biodegradable leather shoes in 2008 by participating in the making of a biodegradable polymer, as well as fibers, threads and textiles from recycled water bottles to make T-shirts and felt jackets.

For cold weather, BOATILUS winter boots have a truly water-proof sole, with a felt insole and fleece lining from recycled water bottles, including a patented aluminum foil “ALUPROTECT membrane” from recycled aluminium cans, both materials produced in Europe for best comfort and insulation!

As early as 2015, BOATILUS was pioneering a new vision of eco-friendly retail, redesigning its 17 Paris boutiques with furniture crafted entirely from recycled cardboard. From welly trees to display units and checkout counters, every element was conceived as part of a unique, creative and sustainable concept. Today, the brand extends this commitment to innovation and responsibility by embracing a new generation of virtual online stores.

In 2017, BOATILUS produced its iconic scented NAUTIC wellies in the USA, in addition to its European production, while expanding its collection with a new range of patented winter & warm boots…

In 2020, BOATILUS took a new step forward by expanding its collection with beach sandals conceived from the very beginning to be fully recyclable. At a time when only a limited number of materials are genuinely recycled on a large scale—glass, aluminium, cardboard, PET bottles and PVC—the brand chose PVC and developed BOATIGUM®: an exclusive Italian compound that is 100% recyclable, ultra-soft and deeply rooted in an eco-friendly approach. Crafted and produced in Italy, this innovative material combines recycled PET, natural Italian calcium and an essence of Italian lemon zest, valued for its naturally antimicrobial properties. The result is a unique material designed to combine softness, comfort and responsibility. Among these creations, BIOTY, launched in 2020, was specially designed to support the feet of babies and children. Made in a single-piece construction to enhance recyclability, BOATILUS sandals combine an ergonomic shape, genuine shock absorption, a non-slip sole, an easy-on heel tab and “Barefoot design” lines—offering comfort, freedom of movement and everyday well-being.

BOATILUS 2022 collection

was completed with the first European produced, bio-sourced scented DINGY flip-flops, the warm PENGUY classic nautic boots with a warm sustainable fleece lining from recycled water bootles, a classic sustainable DS sneaker using only Italian quality materials, and the IRKY fusbett sandals with an indestructible thermo-rubber sole recycled in Italy from soles and scraps.

The CLOGGY clog, the IRKYVEG sandal, the ROCKSY slide, the SLIDY slide sandal, the EASYVEG sneaker, and the BABYBEATLY CHEALSY ankle boot.
